Vonita Murray

A Navy veteran and mother of a seven year-old daughter, Vonita Murray seeks to help others and build community through her farm enterprise. She was discharged from her military service due to wounds of war.
Vonita now owns and operates Mariposa Valley Farm in Woodland, CA, where she grows organic vegetables. She sells her produce through a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  She also has acquired two restaurant contracts and also sells to grocery stores.

In 2011, Vonita received a grant through the Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund. She has used her grant to purchase irrigation supplies, a greenhouse and attend the California Farm Academy. With determination, hard work, and resources, Vonita is well-equipped to build a career in agriculture.
